Location
Kissimmee is located in Osceola County, a 1,506-square mile area that serves as the south/central boundary of the Central Florida Region and the Greater Metropolitan Orlando area. The City of Kissimmee, the County Seat, is 18 miles due south of Orlando. Osceola's only other incorporated City, St. Cloud, is nine miles east of Kissimmee, and approximately 45 miles west of the City of Melbourne on the Atlantic Coast.

Transportation
The Orlando International Airport is conveniently located close to the Kissimmee area. The Kissimmee Municipal Airport is a convenient alternative for private pilots and charters. An expansive road network links Kissimmee with the rest of Central Florida. An Amtrak station located in downtown Kissimmee offers another travel option. Kissimmee is about an hour's drive to the Atlantic beaches, 80 miles to Tampa Bay and the Gulf beaches, and 236 miles to Miami.

Osceola County has historically served as a transportation crossroads and is currently crossed by the Florida East Coast Seaboard and Amtrak Railroad Systems, Interstate Highway 4 and U.S. Highways 17/92, 441, 192 and Florida's Turnpike. The transportation network includes connections to the Central Florida Greeneway (SR417) and Osceola Parkway (SR522), which provide access from the Turnpike to Walt Disney World.
